As others have said, we have a collection Deploy Windows 7 that we put computers in when we want them to be imaged.  Then reboot to pxe.  There is a role that removes them from the collection and clears the required pxe deployments automatically when the task sequence completes successfully.

Currently, you don't use SCCM at all, just MDT stand alone, correct? As long as you keep the MDT environment separate from your SCCM environment, there is nothing that would prevent the use of MDT for OSD and SCCM for patching etc. Once the OSD task sequence is done, the workstations won't have

We're probably a very small organization, compared to most that use SCCM. (We used SCE until Microsoft killed it off, and it was a good fit for our ~275 users/devices.) As such, our situation is probably very different from the average IT dept using SCCM. We have a 5 person IT dept, including
