you can backup and then remove the boot wims from the console and distribution points as they won't be used in R2, new ones will be added when you move to SP1 and then R2 (SP1/R2 use different versions of Windows ADK versus WAIK in RTM), you'll have to do your customizations (wallpaper, f8 command

the boot wims are based on different operating systems so you might not need to import any drivers into the new boot wims for R2, I would advise that you make backup whatever winpe drivers you have today, and your boot wims, and then test the boot wims provided in R2 before adding any drivers,

OSDBitLocker.exe is the Enable BitLocker step, documented at http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb632526.aspx. The WTG one is just a variation on that. The task sequence provider MOF will show the breakdown of the command line options, e.g. how the default steps pass TS variables to

Sure, a WIM is a WIM - you can build in MDT, deploy in ConfigMgr; you can build in ConfigMgr and deploy using MDT (as long as the presence of the ConfigMgr client doesn't bother you); you can capture using WDS and deploy with MDT or ConfigMgr. Whatever mix-and-match scenario you want to do.
