I like the idea, it is clever but there is problem with this query. All x86 computers will show up as having the x64 version as they don't have (x86) within the path name. This also assumes that all installs are within the Program files directory, I agree that is generally a safe bet but not

Is the concern that the file path would somehow change? What is the problem they're trying to address? If you already know the executable name, then Software Inventory would be one option (I wouldn't implement though until you're sure it's the best option). -Phil From:
