1. Your problem is obviously related to a hardware incompatibility
problem with ubuntu 9.04. Integrated graphics cards on Linux currently
don't work with more than 2GB RAM installed. Reduce your RAM to 2GB and
chances are good that your problems disappear. 2GB RAM is more than
enough on Linux.

We'll add the same carbon title bar patch that we've added to tha main
window. I guess that this will enable you to resize the trigger editor
window. Once it has been resized Mudlet will remember the old size of
this window. I'll also make the default width smaller.

You have obviously overwritten the function fg() with some variable of
your own in some of your scripts.
Until you've found the error you can use the built-in functions:
setFgColor( 255,0,0 )
setBgColor(0,255,0)
These functions take RGB paremeters from 0-255 for Red, Green and Blue
