INSTRUCTOR Shaykh Hasan al-Banna Shaykh Hasan al-Banna is the founding director of the Islamic Institute for Development & Research (IIDR). He graduated with a BA (Hons) in Arabic & Law (SOAS, University of London) and completed the Bar Vocational Course (BVC) qualifying as a barrister. His preliminary study of the classical slamic sciences was under the tutelage of his father Shaykh Abdul Qadir and later with other notable scholars. He studied Arabic language and literature at the Institute Européan des Sciences Humaines (France) and at the University of Alexandria (Egypt). He is currently pursuing his postgraduate studies at Al-Azhar University in Islamic Jurisprudence. Shaykh Hasan al-Banna has translated several classical and contemporary works on Islamic history, thought and spirituality and is the author of the bestselling book Sirah of the Final Prophet (s) - a book which he wrote at the age of sixteen. His forthcoming titles include: On Sufism (October 2010) and A Textbook on Ulum al-Qur’an (February 2011).
