Hi,
I've just completed what I think will be my first cut at a relatively

feel free to check it out and to give me feedback so that I can improve

Folks,
I proudly present a new beta version of mutt, mutt-1.3.22. This
version should be quite stable, but may still have fatal errors
hidden in branches of code which just aren't used by any of the
developers. That is, we expect that most known bugs from 1.2 have
been fixed, and hope that
Hi, there!
Is there a possibility to echo text in the status bar (I mean the very
last line in mutt, where messages like You are on the first page.
appear)?
I want to display some informations after applying complex macros.

hello,
I want to use some *-hook, but there's something boring. When I start
mutt, I'm in my spool directory.
I've got those hook

Thus spake Brian Salter-Duke ([EMAIL PROTECTED]):
I think this is a valuable addition to the mutt literature.
Thomas, can this go in the release in the docs directory? Or perhaps
be linked to the home page?
Justin, I small point. I think it would be valuable if you linked your
commands

I'm running mutt 1.2.5i

However, when I send a message, if I specify a folder that

I'll second that motion.
getmail is much more straightforward to set up, with a cleaner
configuration file. It doesn't have ridiculous default options like SMTP
injection instead of MDA delivery, a la
Now would be a very good time to try out the new mutt 1.3.22 beta
release. In that version you use 'C' for create-mailbox ('n' collided
with the search-next key).
OK, that fixed my problems :)
I actually went with 1.3.20, since that was the latest version availale on
the Sourceforge download
So sprach »Robert A. Knop Jr.« am 2001-08-31 um 10:23:12 -0700 :
the Sourceforge download site. Are there any horrible bugs lurking in
that version which have been fixed since then in the CVS?
Don't know about Bugs, but since .21 threading messages is quite some
faster. Maybe check out .22.
I use mutt both at home and at work on the same mailbox. Yesterday it
mysteriously purged the last 15 days worth of email. I intended to
quit and restart it, but it said 'writing mailbox...', and then
reopened it with 15 days worth of emails gone. :'( This is a serious
bug! I'm going to use

PS- A coworker using the same version
Interestingly, a coworker at a different office had the same thing
happen to him a while ago. I've got a large mailbox (1500+ messages),
and I open and close it from home while it's already open at work.
Sometimes I'm bad and ungracefully break my ssh connection. I've been

I have a quick question -- is there a way to set the PGP attributes
(i.e. sign/encrypt/both/neither) based on the recipient in a send hook
or something? For example, I typically sign everything but I'd like it
to auto-encrypt for certain recipients.
Thanks for any tips, and thanks again for
ok so i have a question that i hope someone can answer.
i currently have a bunch of folder hooks, however i'd like to be able to
keep these various folder hooks but have a default send-hook. this
doesn't seem to work as the send-hook always seems to override the
folder hook.
