I got this error when I had the embedded Perl interpreter installed, I'm
no programmer so I just recompiled without the embedded Perl
interpreter, and if anyone does know a solution to this it would be
great as it would speed up my checks no end.

Yeah, it's a basic perl error saying that the script hasn't declared the
variable before using it.
Edit the script and right up the top where you see other entries similar to
my $variable;
my $othervaraible = foo;
add in
my $script;
You could just turn off warnings, but that is bad practice
I've seen this before when we had issued a restart on Nagios and there
were 2 copies of it running at the same time.
I'm not saying that's what this is but it's worth checking.
