Hi,
We use Nagios on several servers, in version 2.9 with NDO 1.4b5 and perf2rdd
(nagios write performance data in a pipe file and perf2rrd perform it in rrd
file). Running on RHEL4 with package from dag.wieers.com
we have 80 hosts and 420 services on this server.
We can see some huge gaps
iam using nagios-3.0.4 and while using check_users plug in getting the
number of users logged message. But is there any plugin or way to see the
current users lists on that.

I wrote a plugin to do this, I might release it if you are interested...
it's a quick plugin in bash that lists all the users on a system in the
following format and always returns OK (since there is not much to not
be ok about by the time it runs)
USERS: hari(15) userX(3) userY(5)

In fact, now I think about that plugin, if I am going to release it then
I will likely add a couple of features like the ability to go critical
if a certain user is not logged in, or if an unrecognized user is logged
in, or if a user that is not part of a predefined ok list is logged in...
Hi Hari,
I too would be interested in this plugin. If your going to release it
that is.

OK I will try to release it today, I am just adding the extra
functionality to do things like return critical on unauthorized users etc...
I'll mail back when done. I'll post it to nagiosexchange as usual when
ready and tested.
By the way, this is currently written in Bash for linux (but

I am having an issue with an up to date SLES 9.3 server and the latest
release of Nagios Plugins. I have the proper devel packages installed as
shown below but the plugins still will not build:
if gcc -DLOCALEDIR=\/usr/local/nagios/share/locale\ -DHAVE_CONFIG_H -I.
-I. -I.. -I.. -I../lib
Howdy,
I found on my system (RHEL4 with SELINUX enforcing) that I was unable to
Acknowledge this service problem with an error:
Error: could not stat() command file
/usr/local/nagios/var/rw/nagios.cmd
dmesg on the system would report:
audit(1193232913.522:2): avc: denied { getattr }
Howdy, if it is a 64bit system, you might need both 32bit and 64bit
versions of openssl and openssl-devel installed.
I believe I had to do that on my SLES9 PPC64 systems.

Hi guys,
I've added a couple of extra switches to my show_users script and
posted it on NagiosExchange.org so that you can use it. What started off
as a quick hack seems to be more useful than I previously thought,
otherwise I wouldn't have sat on this for so many months...

Has anyone used the nagios configuration directive cfg_dir to point to

Real quick, how about allowing them FTP access to the config
