I try adding 'retain_status_information 0' in host definition for Nagios server. Now, its host status is 'pending' instead of 'down'. But the default host initial state shouldn't be 'up'? You could try sending a passive check result to put it back into an OK state.

Hi, I am configuring nagios version 2.10 on RHEL 4 . The clients to this system are IBM AIX, Sun Solaris, HP_UX , The alerts set to these systems are working fine except check_local_disk. The same is working ok for Linux. The plug-in version I am using is 1.4.10. Thanks in advance ..

Provided you verified the syntex is correct and works for other disks, The problem may be in plugin running on the Windows Host. make sure to run check_nt from the command line for testing that way you know its not the configuration that is interfering. particularly since the error you posted
