Hi
Tried that still can't get it to work
I have got the central server nagios debug set to external commands nothing
shows in the debug log.
Also nothing from nsca in both of the servers nagios.log
And on the central server the nagios.cmd file stays at 0 bytes so nothing
seems to be
OK, a couple of things to look at:
- nagios.cmd is supposed to always be 0 bytes. It's not a file but a socket.
- How did you define the ocsp command?
- When you execute the OCSP command manually what happens? Do you see
anything in the central server's logs? Note: make sure to run as user
Thanks Patrick, I'm laid out with the flu but I'll try that next week.

Dear Mr. Dippery,
The method I use is the check_nmap_scan plug-in by Serg Belokamen, which I've attached to this email. It is written in perl and requires that you have nmap installed on your nagios host.
Basically, you define what ports should be open (and not open) on a given host
and then
Dear Mr. Gabriel,
I would definitely suggest using pnp4nagios.
http://www.pnp4nagios.org/pnp/start
It's written in PHP5 so there typically isn't too much required to get it
running nicely on a Nagios box on Linux. It needs the GD libraries for PHP and
I think you're good to go. Oh wait,
You also have the possibility to use the negate plugin (in offcial
plugins). This is an already written wrapper to swap OK and CRITICAL
return values ;-)

I had been using nagiosgraph for years and found it to be good I had to

Then I gave pnp4nagios a shot. I found that I liked 2 things about a
lot better than nagiosgraph

Under system, if I select comments, it shows process info instead.
Other items show fine, except this one.
For process info, the link is /cgi-bin/extinfo.cgi?type=0
For comments, the link is /cgi-bin/extinfo.cgi?type=3
Both links show process info.

Our configurations are set up so that notifications go out for every
state, but we have escalations that we want to only go out if they are
for a critical alert or a recovery from a critical. the problem we
are having is that by doing an escalation like this:
