[Nagios-users] Upgrade nagios

How hard is it to upgrade Nagios from version 2.0b3 to 2.5 (or any other version for that matter). I am only using the basic SNMP checks such as check_disk, check_cpu, and ping. That is all I need at the moment. Is the upgrade just execute an RPM and possible restore of config files?

I fell into the same trap. The install package installs minimal.cfg but no other ones. If you create the necessary cfg files by hand it will work, also uncomment the necessary files in nagios.cfg when they are created. I had to play with it a bit to get it to work but now it works with

I have Nagios version 2.0b3 and it is running pretty good. Is there any advantage to running/upgrading to version 2.0rc1? Do the upgrade Nagios programs have anything different than the version I am using? Is the upgrade path: 1) kill Nagios and reinstall the new version? 2) Upgrade
