Interesting thread on Centreon. I evaluated it when it was Oreon 4 years ago
and it was horrid then, difficult to install, unpredictable and had very
little English information available. Looks like it has come a long way. Is
the English conversant community as large as the French now?
Has anyone
to see if the daemon process is running you can use
check_procs.
Hopefully this brief answer will give you some tools to search for. Try
running them with --help.

Nagios comes with a CGI that provides a web-based interface. Not useful
for custom configurations, but it is useful to view status of hosts and
services, disabling/enabling notifications, etc.

executable. The defaults of FreeBSD should then work to find it and run it
at boot.
If you want to use FreeBSD's new rc.d semantics, have a look at the
rc.d scripts included by FreeBSD's nrpe and nrpe2 ports as examples.
