I am using NagioSQL and find some of the tables are growing quite rapidly. nagios_externalcommands is quite large and I would like to reduce it. Has anyone any tips for general maintenance of the sql tables in ngaios. I don't want to zap something that system needs Thanks

Off the top of my head, The nagios_externalcommands table sounds a lot more related to NDOutils than it is to NagioSQL . I don't know if NagioSQL uses external commands to adjust the configuration while nagios is running, without reloads, but that's the only link I could see between NagioSQL and
