I hope someone can help my here. I have setup a check_icmp to check 2
remote FW. If I run check_icpm from the command line it returns the
status OK from within Nagios it gives me a warning and the status
information is (no output).

I have been beating my head on this and I have no brain cells left. I am

edit what I think I need then run the pre-flight check, I always get a

We have recently installed Redhat AS4 throughout our network. I have
installed various plugins from the Nagios Exchange site for Linux and
all seems to be well, except for the check_ram command. I am running
this on various servers with different configurations and all are giving
the same results.
I have just noticed a strange thing and hope that someone out there
could shed some lite on it.
I have a disk check set to warn at 80% and crit at 10%. If I run the
check_disk command locally it returns a warning message that the disk is
at 81%, which is correct. But, if I run the check_disk
) is greater than 80 (your warning) and 10 (your critical.)
Or is it too late in the evening and I'm missing something?

I had the following situation come up last week and cannot figure why it
happen, so I am hoping that someone out there can shed some light. I
have some services that were in scheduled downtime last Saturday. During
the scheduled downtime we had a network issue where our core tried to
fail over to
When a service or host is put in scheduled downtime does the monitor
still execute against the service it's checking? OR does it stop? I am
having a big debate here at work on this. I say, as what I understand,
is that when it is scheduled for downtime, no monitor is sent out for
that service.
Is it possible and if so can someone share with a script that will stop a
monitor script for a certain time period then restart. Just putting the service
in scheduled downtime still lets runs and I don't want to access the service
being monitored.

a service in the Notes files, save it, reload it. No note appears for the
service. I can only view it if I click on view from Nagios core. I am baffled.

I just switched over to XI and I am having issues with sending messages to our
mobile phones. Regular email is working just fine but when I send a test
message from with XI it says that a message will go the email and phone, but
only email comes through. I am at a loss here.
