Hi All!
We have nagios 2.4 and would like to know if there is any way of
specifying a service different host than the one using send_nsca. For
example, the nagios server is not allowed to have contact to several
customers' networks. However, we do have one machine that does have
access to each

Hi All!
We have an application that sends SNMP traps to a trap server. Which
then uses send_nsca to send status changes. The application may notice a
problem and send a trap, thus changing the status of the Nagios service,
but the problem is self-correcting and the application may be Ok within

Hi All!
We had a problem the other day where the nagios process died and no one
noticed it for over 30 minutes. Therefore, I was thinking about ways to
monitor Nagios itself. One simply way would be a cronjob that checks if
the nagios process is running and then uses yaps or something to send an

Maybe I missed it in the documentation, but is there anyway to refer to
a host by multiple names? We are using SolarWinds to monitor various

We are in the process of moving from Nagios 2.5 to Nagios 3.0 with

I am confused about Nagios' behavior when it is restarted. One of the
basic questions is what classifies as state information and what is

Hi All!
We have Nagios 3.0.1 with a number of passive services. When the go

acknowledgements for the passive services disappear. The acknowledgement
for active service
is unchecked in both cases (also the
