Noah Angell: Lecture/Performance on Labour and Rhythm. Banner Repeater platform 1, Hackney Downs train station, Dalston Lane. Hackney, London. E8 1LA.
http://www.bannerrepeater.org/ Saturday 19th November 7-9pm, talk at 7.30pm. Noah Angell: Lecture/Performance on Labour and Rhythm. Selections from Noah Angell’s audio archive of ethnographic field recordings will be used to structure a lecture concerning the rhythms of labour, and the complex relationship between labour and sound in determining our temporal and linguistic orientation. This is a site-specific lecture which is being written for Banner Repeater, at Hackney Downs overground station, the site itself being evocative of railway time and Britain's transformation from an agricultural to a now post-industrial society. The lecture will be recorded live by sound technician Adam Laschinger, producing a unique document of the event which feeds back into the body of material from which this research is based. Angell's "Forgetting and negative space within the ethnographic field recording" was held at David Roberts Art Foundation in September, and in October at Oksasenkatu 11 in Helsinki, and he will be in Sitterwerk Library in Switzerland for another recording in 2012. _______________________________________________ NetBehaviour mailing list NetBehaviour@netbehaviour.org http://www.netbehaviour.org/mailman/listinfo/netbehaviour
