Here's another better recording of the same call, with more time at the
beginning.

the hum is coming from the connection. I've been having problems with

long (40 ft or so), and relatively inexpensive audio cable?

Hello,
Could someone tell me what this sparrow call is? The spectrogram shows a
slightly ascending wavy line, so I'm thinking maybe GRSP?

Apparently warbler migration is picking up, this one just came through a
few minutes ago. I know that zeeps aren't identifiable usually, but this
one sounds kind of distinctive. Waterthrush maybe? It's long and ascending.

I have had a few interesting calls this week as well. They sound rather
thrush-like, but don't match any of the thrushes. I'm guessing they're
Rose-breasted Grosbeak, but I would appreciate confirmation.

of their NFC, and honestly I called most of them
grosbeaks simply because they didn't match any of the thrushes. I attached
one of the presumed RBGR calls below; it sounds rather like a pure-toned
Gray-cheeked Thrush.

Hello all,
Could someone with a bit more experience please confirm whether or not this
is a Dickcissel? It's getting kind of late for them, and the call sounds a
bit off. It was picked up by the Oldbird DICK detector at 0218, 11-2-16
over Dover, DE.

Thanks! It's too bad you can't identify it to a species level; all three of the
birds you mentioned would be lifers for me.

Hello all,
My NFC mic has suddenly started picking up the local country music station for
