Hello,
Is there a way to typeset (simple) musical scores with ConTeXt/XeTeX? I found
Lilypond, but whether it is supported now is obscure.

Hi there,
I am a bit confused about \definetypeface. I try to mix some
self-installed otf-fonts. Serif works fine, but I can't get the sans
variant to work:
\definetypeface [chaparral][rm][serif] [chaparral][default][encoding=texnansi]
\definetypeface [myriad] [ss][sans] [myriad]

Hello Thomas,

Try:
\definetypeface [chaparral] [ss][sans] [myriad] [default]
[encoding=texnansi]
great! This works. Thanks (also to Wolfgang). Now another question:
I'd like to set the interlinespace for \rm only.
My attempt:
\definebodyfontenvironment

There is a lilypond module for ConTeXt. It passes on the music
typesetting to Lilypond and imports
Thanks for the minimal example you sent me (offlist), which worked
great.

Hello Wolfgang,
can you try the following setup
\definebodyfontenvironment[chaparral][14pt][interlinespace=20pt]
No effect with:
\definetypeface [foo] [rm][serif] [chaparral][default][encoding=texnansi]
\definetypeface [foo] [ss][sans] [myriad][default][encoding=texnansi]
Hi,
it seems that I keep asking the beginner's questions...
How do I combine \setupinterlinespace with \definetyping? I'd like to
have a verbatim envrionment with less interlinespace then the rest of
the document.
\definetyping

Hello,
I have pdfs containing small musical pieces, created with lilypond. To include
them in my document, I must crop each pdf manually each time it is recreated.

It doesn't always seem to work for me (with various Windows-created
pdfs), but you can try this (example from texshow-web under
Hello,
I've found a bug in XeTeX image handling. Once it has created a .rli file for
an image, it doesn't recalculate dimensions after the image is changed.
I tested it with .png image, 1-bit (black-and-white). When I crop the image,
both its size and datetime attribs are updated.
Hi,
actually my use of LilyPond with ConTeXt is based on creating the
lily file, rendering in pdf, create a ConTeXt file
inserting MetaPost and the placing/cropping the figure with MP.

As for MKII/pdfTeX1, it makes no sense making a book for a stalled branch;
debian users will continue to use pdfTeX1 for at least 10 years, I fear. :-)

Hello,
How to adjust spacing before and after all figures placed by \externalfigure? I
don't need captions, just figures.
Now I use two commands in pair, like
\blank[4ex]
\externalfigure[lily03.png][scale=1000]
