at the context meeting it was concluded that there is no reason for mkiv
to be fully downward compatible.
one thing that i consider removing is the 'background=screen' option
from \framed. After all, screens internally already are just grayscales
and the old 'method' mechanism is no
Hi,
this time a beta that is more beta than usual (mkiv)
- it needs a recent luatex (no surprise)
- there are some speedups, but it might break things (should not happen)
- the memory footprint should be a bit smaller (esp fonts)
- font fallbacks etc have some fixes
a major change is that now
Hi again,
Can someone tell me what the exact version of luatex is in the
minimals? (and what platform, esp. for failures)
Assuming it is the coroutines (and that seems likely) I
will try fix the problem on monday (no time today). Worst
case scenario for the solution I have in mind is that

I don't know if the following is a luatex or Context bug. Sorry if
here is not the right place to report this.
After compiling the following lines I faced two problems in the

Hi all,
Is there a way to get the value of the height of a columnset after it is
balanced? I'm looking for some sort of \columnsetheight that I can
reuse as height=\columnsetheight in a \framed command in a layer. Hope
this makes sense, or is the content of a layer

Hi Folks !
I'm currently writting a technical report in which I need to type some
XML an non-XML text.
Sample file (xml_test.tex):
I have some custom XML text (trivial) + a not-so-complicated xsl
transformation (a part is included within the test file). I know there

Great!
Could you then also repair the align=left|right issue?
Thanks, Peter

Hi,
assume that I would like to read some parts of the ConTeXt source (to
learn something interesting, to learn how to do that-and-that in
ConTeXt, or just for fun;)). Where do I start? I mean: what is the
non-terribly-difficult way for the beginner? I have rather good
expertise in plain TeX
