I also would like to be able to choose a different font and/or fontsize
(\switchtobodyfont[...]), style and/or color (\color[...]) for chapter
pages' header area (margin/edge/text) and non-chapter pages.
Hence, I guess... back to my initial question.

In your case you need to setup the flowchart and indicate the number
of cells per x an y direction.
You can also manipulate the didstance between cells.
