I wrote some articles with context and they contain (of course) sections.
Now I have to include all these articles in a book but each article
should become a section of the book. So I wonder if there is a way to
convert the \section

Hi Alan,
Using TeXShop on MacOS X you can create two files named « mkiv-stable.engine »
and « mkiv-testing.engine » and put them in the folder
Library/TeXShop/Engines
The first file « mkiv-stable.engine » contains the following:
#!/bin/bash

Hi,
How could I get with \cldcontext{1.2} the same result as with 1.2 in the
following example please:
\starttext
\setupTABLE[c][1][alignmentcharacter=., aligncharacter=yes]
\bTABLE
\bTR \bTD 1.2 \eTD \eTR
\eTABLE

\bTR \bTD \cldcontext{1.2} \eTD \eTR

I have activated numbering sections by
*\setuphead[section][number=yes]*, and now the numbers are in the toc,
too, as they should. How to show the numbers in the header, too?
The header is: *\setupheadertexts

You can the section number with \getmarking[sectionnumber], the chapter number
with \getmarking[chapternumber] etc.
Thanks Wolfgang!
And another question about numbering: How can I let start the numbering
of chapters with the number n (not 1, as default)? E.g. with n=0 or n=2?
Thanks.

Thanks Wolfgang, nearly perfect, what I wanted.
The problem left is here:
\defineexpandable[1]\Previousnumber
{\number\numexpr#1-1\relax}
\defineconversion[previousnumber][\Previousnumber]
\setuphead[section][conversion=previousnumber]
\starttext
\dorecurse{5}{\chapter{Chapter #1}
I found the file, tabl-tbl.mkiv, here:
/usr/local/texlive/2013/texmf-dist/tex/context/base/tabl-tbl.mkiv
I insert the line you said that was missing at line #721.
But, it did not change anything. Does this file need to be compiled or
anything?
I am not familiar with the deeper workings

Thanks, Otared! That is very helpful indeed. I now have access to each of
the ConTeXt trees via TeXShop—and a sensible way to explore why the ConTeXt
betas since August 5 have not worked so well with my files.
All best, Alan
