Thanks for the reply. I work with MikTeX and TeXnicCenter. You
mean that instead of a standalone program I can incorporate the
MetaPost figure(s) directly into LaTeX and view the results
from there? It is possible to create  pdf, png, jpeg files from
the same MetaPost code? I need these graphics for other
applications (like Openoffice, etc.,).
