With \xmlregistereddocumentsetups{#1}{#1} put before the \xmlflush{#1} ConTeXt
processing resumes on the node.
What I do not understand however, is why \xmlcontext does not work in general.
Is it possible to have the \xmlregistereddocumentsetups
