Just for the sake of completeness, in case someone else stumbles upon this
thread, it should be noted that \definefontfeature needs to be set before
\setupbodyfont, i.e.,
\definefontfeature[default][default][onum=yes]
\definefontfeature[smallcaps][smallcaps][onum=yes]

“just-os”)
