Do you mean background color or do you just want the text highlighted?
If you mean the background color, and assuming that the row you
referring to is the first row, you could add before \bTABLE:

Dear all,
I'm trying to change the color of the
footer text. I typed:
\def\footerstyle#1{\startcolor[red]#1\stopcolor}
\setupfooter[style=\footerstyle]
But I receive an error that I can't
interpret.

Hello,
I have problems with the following minimal example (I only want to
typeset white labels inside the table), but maybe I'm the only one
again:
\setupcolors[state=start]
\starttext
\startcolor[white]
\placetable[force]{none}{\starttable[|r|]
\NC \color[red]{me} \AR
\stoptable
}{\starttable[|r|]
\NC \color[red]{me} \AR
\stoptable}
\placetable[force]{none}{\def\a#1{\color[white]{#1}}\starttable[|r|l|]
\NC \a{one} \NC \a{one} \AR
\NC \a{two} \NC \a{two} \AR
\stoptable}
\placetable[force]{none}{\starttable[|r|]
\NC \color[white]{me} \AR

a half-philosophical question (not too relevant).

(\framed[background=screen]{...})? Or is it a special effect maybe?
I know that using it has long been deprecated, but I used it in many
older documents as it was easiest to remember
