This is a side-effect of TeX being an 8-bit program that doesn't
understand utf-8 itself. utf-8 in ConTeXt works by virtue of the
first character of a sequence having catcode 13 (\active), but
\meaning never outputs any catcodes except 12 (character) and 10
(space). This can be fixed by calling \scantokens:

This table varied in its height. One week there are more items and
one week the are less items.
Now to my problem.
I want to have this graphic in the back of the table. Always in the
middle of the table. The width of the table is always the same.
I can place the background but I shouldn't have a absolute position.
The position should vary concerning to the height of the table.
Is this possible?
I've found nothing in the PDF's to this problem.
Another thing are fillinrules:
can I define the look of the line? Now it is always a line, but I
want a thinner line or points. Like I can define in \setupunderbar
but in \setupfillinrules I did't find this option.
Hope somebody can help...

I'll consider the possibility of adding a new primitive to pdfetex
(the language) for the discovery of run-time errors like this. That
will not help you at this moment, though.

Thank you a lot. I didn't know the location=middle option (yupi, no
need for \vcenter any more :).
Without align=, \framed behaves pretty much like a \hbox. So once I
unsuccessfully tried \crlf and \\ inside \framed a couple of times, I
gave up, forgetting about some nice examples in the manual.
But how do I get rid of the blank line in this example:

[NTG-context] Regimes to be supported; Comments?
Hello, Some time ago there was a discussion about extending support for different regimes in ConTeXt. The list of (to-be-)supported regimes probably depends strongly on the implementation (ruby+iconv?). I collected a preliminary list of candidate regimes and possible synonyms (some synonyms are listed there for backward compatibility and have to remain there), leaving out most of eastern encodings (not because they shouldn't be on the list, but because I'm completely ignorant about that). Hans suggested to post this to the mailing list first to get some useful comments and suggestions. # The following question should probably go in a separate thread, but it's a very similar thematic. In July 2006 Ljubljana will host people from around 85 coutries of the world. One of the very ambitious organizers is dreaming for already a couple of years to print the participant names (on honourable mentions for example, ...) in both latinic transcription and as they are written in original (under an assumption that the names are properly entered in a UTF-8 database). This is probably not possible to do for every single obscure language, but does it in general sound like: a) Good luck (I don't want to be on your place)! b) Take a good (commercial) program c) If you're ready to invest the rest of your time (forget about hobbies!), it's probably doable in LaTeX or ConTeXt until then č) Forget about TeX - it will be possible to solve this problem one day with unicode one of the new TeX engines. But until then, it's not worth the effort, because any effort you may invest will become obsolete in a couple of years. Hi Mojca, Re: encodings, this page may be of help: http://www.kostis.net/charsets/ I personally prefer to use iconv as a preprocessor (any to utf-8), so I don't really care all that much about supported encodings. I have some remarks anyway, of course ;-) I think that some of the encodings on your list are more like keyboard mappings than like actual input encodings (some MacXXX ones, for instance). The 'original' MICROSOFT/PC ones and EBCDIC have probably all fallen in disuse by now in 'normal operations'. I would not bother with them. Thanks, Matthias and Hans, for the tip about \page[+2]. I have not yet studied a ConTeXt presentation (read, slides) macros, so it may well be that that use is very practical. (In any of the slides packages I know in LaTeX, it certainly would be.) [NTG-context] Adding webpage to the bibliography entries
Hello, (mostly) Taco, I don't know what the whole functionality of the urlbst (CTAN/biblio/bibtex/contrib/urlbst/) package is, but it offers an entity @webpage for bibiliography style, with url, author, title, year, lastchecked and note. I think it also adds a field url to every(?) other entity. It would be great to be able to use something like \cite[url][our nice garden], which would be equivalent to something like \useURL[bib:our nice garden][http://contextgarden.net][][http://contextgarden.net] \from[bib:our nice garden] and also add URLs to the list of publications (if requested) at the end of the file. Support would probably only make sense in the ConTeXt-wrapped bibliographies (actually is url often already present in usual bib files). In the context of bibligraphies, I have been looking at two topics that were the subject of presentations at one of the last TUG meetings, namely, Bibulus MLBibTeX Bibulus interests me because it creates bibliographies directly in XML. MLBibTeX interests me because of its extended encoding (it is billed as European style bibliography). In either case, at this time they are for developers only: neither is ready for prime time use (though you can download packages and play with them). On the other hand, they seem to be getting *very* close to prime time readiness. Conclusion: if ConTeXt is going to undertake some work concerning the bibliography, it might be a good idea to consider how that work might tie in with Bibulus or MLBibTeX, or both. Conclusion: if ConTeXt is going to undertake some work concerning the bibliography, it might be a good idea to consider how that work might tie in with Bibulus or MLBibTeX, or both. This said as an after thought to what Mojca said. Best, My impression (from talks that i've heard) is that bibulis is not yet mature and it was mainly a food for thought talk but the status may have changed. MLBibTeX has a longer history and its author is very serious in his efforts to get it done and reports on a regular basis at user group meetings. Concerning context, taco (when he has time) will look into it in more detail and he has already discussed some things with Jean-Michel; once we know that all info needed is carried around, writing an xml interface is easy (i can do that if needed, but others need to provide specs and examples). Don't hesitate to contact Jean Michel and express your wishes; he's quite willing to provide more info. I discovered that the source of the bug is probably \headtext the line
