tex. This does not work

I find a get a lot of whitespace around my defined descriptions.
Setting
\setupdescriptions[\c!before=,\c!inbetween=,\c!after=]
does not much help.
Is there something else that can be done. Preferably without
resorting to wild guesses like before=\godown[-10pt] or the like.
Or is there
