inserted unintended large vertical whitespace
in page 27 of resulting PDF.
Though it seems to be a bug related to \setupbackground,
I could not find the cause of problem as the code related to that command
is too complicated for me.

This is a side effect of the font handling, I used the hang script which
supports only chinese and removes all spaces from the input

So I would like to suggest those return values to be changed to "false".
Certainly, I do not know much about opentype spec, so I might be wrong and
there could be good reasons for current code state.
