Is it possible to import functionalities of XePersian into ConTeXt.
Xepersian now is excellent in Persian typesetting and you can do all you
want in Persian typography. but I hate LaTeX. its main author unfortunately
is anti-ConTeXt.
thanks. but this file looks like a textbook. it is too long. can not be
shorter? I have not tried your sample but 1) will this produce farsi maths?
(2) I want irani date, is it possible? (3) From otared samples, i can see
that luatex can not handle fonts well, is the issue solved? 4) how footnote
1) numbers in maths formula is Persian, possible?
2) is it hard to write a converter?

persian footnotes will be on left and persian footnotes on right. also if

I am trying to compare the results of Arabic typesetting between different
TeX engines to decide the best one. Can anyone send a samplwe file for
typesetting Arabic in Plain TeX over luatex where the alphabets are not
isolated?

This is the macro for Jalali Calendar taken from xepersian

as I said before, in Persian we have two footnotes, one for Persian and the
other for English, if the first footnote in a pageis English, then footnote
rule will appear on left hand side and if the first footnote in a pgeis
persian, the footnote appears on right .

In fact there are some Persian/Arabic fonts in TL08 and there is no need to
include them. They are a part of xepersian package. I think they should be
at fonts/truetype/xepersian
These fonts include SIL's font in addition to farsiweb fonts.
Looking at CTAN, it seems that the author of xepersian
today, by looking at http://wiki.contextgarden.net/Running_Mark_IV and
following instructions, after updating context and luatex binary in opensuse
11.1, if I run
luatools --generate
in the terminal as both a root user or a normal user, it will not work
and I get
