I want to produce a list of math characters for reference. Followed the wiki

etc. using:
luatools --generate
context --make --all
context --make cont-en
(is this necessary if I do --make --all?)
No, you can do without.
So far I can run a minimal test document and get pdf output, but I can't
use \showaccents, \showcharacters, etc. -- I get
and U+2015.
(Is there something similar to \showcharacters? I
read in
tex/texmf-context/tex/context/base/enco-ini.mkiv
it's in a todo list, but I thought it's worth
asking.)
there's actually a lot of 'show' code ... for instance
\usemodule[fnt-10]
\ShowCompleteFont{name:texgyrepagella-regular
.

I've just discovered the command \showcharacters. It's not in the

I might have missed the point completely, but do you set the file
encoding anywhere
. want to be called?
In plain ConTeXt (for the 255 characters) we can use \showfont[...]
and \showcharacters in order to know how to call the specific
characters/glyphs. But what about OpenType?
Peeking at the LaTeX side of XeTeX, I saw that they have created a
packages called fontspec which seems
they and their ligatures etc. want to be called?

\showfont is limited to unicode's 0-255 slots, but it's functional

has to do with \definecharacter being space delimited
I clearly have some misunderstanding about the typesetting of the
euro sign.
In an attempt to implement the MathTimes font and expert fontset, I
came across a problem with typesetting the euro.
I could not redefine the \texteuro. In \showcharacters it stays empty.
Doing \definecharacter
way to go.

I wanted to test \showcharacters on the live.contextgarden.net (as
Hans suggested that my map files are probably not OK), but it didn't
compile there. (I hope it's not because of my buggy contributions in

Thank you. The commands were only kind-of-working here. They produced
the table that I wanted
, but I still don't
know what the file synonyms should be used for in this context. The
user probably doesn't need to care about file names?
What's the proper name for nonbreaking space, '~', to be put in regi-* file?
how about \nonbreakablespace
Thanks. There was no such glyph in \showcharacters

Does anyone have any script to test the encoding (which would produce
a matrix of (almost) 266 characters)?
there are

it all depends on the combination of input regime and font encoding

i noticed that error too, but don't know a solution.
shorter commands for the same glyphs are \quotedblleft and \quotedblbase
- first is ok, second not.
(tip: try \showcharacters if you are looking the most common symbols)
