the traffic analyzer that I want to stick with.
Is there any way to log the data to a sql database? If not, I haven't
been able to set it up to have persistant data between reboots (every
reboot clears all of its data).

understand the intended use of the -v and -b switches.
I am assuming the -v would be the recommended switch
when using NTOP and MySQL.
