FYI, ntop (like Apache) produce a log file (ntop.access.log) where are
listed the IP addresses of the clients.

Dan, there's no sign of someone wanting to compromise your system, or even
exploit ntop, from a mere connection attempt. That can mean so many things
that you can assume it means nothing. It's perfectly normal
