Hi all,
Please expect some crashes in the current CVS: I'm changing the way hosts
are purged and not everything is working as it should be. Use a previous
snapshot or wait a few days (or less hopefully).
Cheers, Luca

hello all again,
This is a procedural issue.
I downloaded some days ago the windows binary version of NTOP. I am a network
specialist, so I choose not to mess with compiling problems and so on, so I payed the
small fee and I received the link where to download the binaries.
Now i'd like to upgrade the package
Hi Sir,

Hello to Luca and everyone else
I am running ntop 2.0 on FreeBSD 4.4-Release.
I am monitoring a network on which the traffic is TCP/IP (mostly
Netbios over TCP/IP) and IPX (802.3).
On ntop 1.1 the IPX traffic was correctly listed by the ntop web server
as IPX on the Data Sent and Data Rcvd

Throw away the v1.3 source RPM. It's old, different and nobody is
interested in offering any support for it.

also don't give us information about your system. What OS, what version,

Achually i am using Linux 7.1 redhat.

Is there not any way so that i can start those services(which are not

Blunt
answer: No
There
is no support for 1.3 - I've never used it, and the developers who have worked
on ntop since the beginning don't want to. 2.0 is a major
improvement and the focus of current efforts.
There
is an ntop 2.0BETA rpm at http://rpmfind.net,
but as it's a beta and there
(Answering Bharat's question to the
list)
Multiple users allow you to control who can alter
ntop's performance and/or view specific information. If you look on the
"Admin" tab, you will see that you can create additional users and also control
which URLs can be executed by whom.

The relevant code is in pbuf.c, from line 1975ff. It's been a long time
since I last played with IPX at a low level, so I'll have to read it
offline... (Netware 2.15 and 3.11)

If you want to give it a gander, it starts:
if((myGlobals.device[deviceId].datalink != DLT_PPP)
hi, just a quick note about a NTOP installation on redhat 7.2:
process followed:
./configure
make
make install
(with no extra options, it was a pretty standard redhat 7.2 system)
make install fails because it can't find the man-pages directory
/usr/local/man/man1/intop and therefore fails the
gre is not listed in /etc/services, but instead in /etc/protocols since it
is a named IP protocol (#47) and not associated with a port #. It is
interesting that TCPDump can filter and report on gre and ntop can filter
gre but cannot display it by name.
The last version I compiled with MINGW was release ntop-2.0 with success.
I tried to compile with MINGW version cvs 02-02-15 and 02-02-19
but got errors:
D:\ntop-02-02-19\ntop-current\ntopmake -f Makefile.mingw
gcc -O -DHAVE_FCNTL_H=1 -DHAVE_PCAP_H=1 -DHAVE_STDARG_H=1 -I. -Ic:/mingw/gdb

The intop problem has been discussed many times, and there is a solution
(two in fact) at http://snapshot.ntop.org/ in the FAQs.
As a 3rd solution, the makefile has been updated, but you may not have rerun
./autogen.sh -1 to recreate the generated files...

ntop uses the libpcap library. Any syntax that libpcap (think tcpdump) will
accept, ntop will accept.
Just because ntop can select the packets, doesn't mean that ntop knows how
to interpret them or anything about the protocol - there are 1000s. Hence
the other bucket...
If you understand gre,
Check the traffic from the last couple of days - I've
gone back and forth with Barat about options...

If my cat allowed me to have an
opinion, it would be here...
Where can I download the rpm file of ntop 2 for suse 7.3 (Kernel
2.4.10)?
