We run a Win 2008 R2 domain (forest/domain functional level) - in a
parent/child domain configuration; all users and resources in the child
domain. We want to upgrade to Win2012 R2 AD (mostly to stay current, and
also because we want to start using DFS for our user profiles .. but that's

Hi
In the past I have used CBT nuggets and trainsignal for CBT training I felt
that trainsignal had the edge, its been some time since my last CBT training
stint 2008 and I wondered what people recommend I noticed trainsignal have been
bought out although they do offer a free trial

We just bought a subscription to Pluralsight (which bought Trainsignal) a
few months ago. It's been okay so far for the couple courses I found time to
watch. Good news is in July 2014 they added Don Jones and Greg Shields who
developed training for CBT Nuggets to their staff

Turns out it was simple. As usual, I was wrong about some of my
assumptions. Turns out, my boss *did* make changes to the replication
schedule. In Sites and Services, any automatically generated links have
the (default?) schedule of 60 minutes. Any manually added servers

You should get rid of the manual COs.. (including automatically created objects
that have been modified). The KDC won’t manage them. A manual object means you
know something the KDC doesn’t which isn’t often the case.
Sometimes it’s necessary to create them in a pinch but you should always go
Yeah, what Bob said. ☺

I looked on the website and saw no link for help.
I subbed to the DPM list, got the success message but when I try to post I get

The point is, with high-speed links, you don’t need a meshed configuration.
Nowhere near to it. It adds unnecessary overhead.

And makes replication unpredictable and difficult to understand.
This is a good case in point.

DPM 2012 SP1
I've a job running (for Exchange) to backup a database and of course truncate
the logs. It keeps failing with:
DPM is out of disk space for the replica. (ID 58 Details: There is not enough
space on the disk
wipes nervous sweat from brow Hour glass finally went away and put the disk
back online. Did a rescan disks and then created the backup job. Success. I'm
glad I found that article; still not 100% sure what went wonky but it looks
like it's unwonked now.
AD does not require a full mesh replication configuration. that is one of my
10 Things in AD that I talk about. Some admins believe the KCC is broken
because it doesn't create a connection between every DC. Imagine how
cumbersome that would be in an AD with hundreds of DCs.

Isn’t this the type of thing that should be in an AD design? ☺
