It took a little longer than I expected to find some time to do this but I
did find time this afternoon.
I spun up a Server 2016 VM and made it an RDS server. I created a GPO based
on my previous email and set the timeout to 15 seconds. This policy locked
the console and all RDS sessions for both
I just had Windows 10, like you do in there, for my test lab

I configured WSUS for:
Critical Updates
Definition Updates (shouldn't be needed since they use Defender)
Security Updates
Office 2010
Office 2013
Office 2016
Office 365 Client
Windows 10
Windows 7
Windows 8.1
After the initial synch. There were 5580 updates available. I can't find
anything
That's the products, you need to filter those through classifications. Uncheck
upgrades and feature packs for example if you don't need them. To be honest, I
have not used WSUS directly in years and I don't know if you can obtain the
granularity in it that Config Mgr provides.

To clarify, your "regular" logged in account is Not desktop administrator for
that machine? I have a co-worker who sets his regular account as a desktop

his domain admin account.

I have not used WSUS directly in a long time, but instead use it underneath

In my case, I choose filters that are specific to versions and languages in

I haven't had the "pleasure" of dealing with WSUS in over 9 years. Got handed a
support ticket for a customer whose WSUS wants to download terabytes worth of
updates. I remembered enough to make sure they had selected only English and
unselected numerous OS options. Running the Server Cleanup
So why does mine work? Very odd. Below is my GPO for this.

Also I can't use Legacy boot as the Arrray is not recognised in that case.
It is only recognised in UEFI boot. If I boot using Legacy boot, even if I
have the drivers in the usb and tell setup to use them, I still can't see
the disks.
Does turning off Smart Boot still boot using UEFI?
On Fri, Sep
My steps:
Create logical disk.
Disable smart boot
Boot to USB either legacy or uefi depending on apps on server. (Mostly just
uefi anymore.)
Build server from latest iso from ms licensing site.
Add bios admin password
Change boot order to HD, CD, USB, NIC.
Deliver server to department or unit
I set up the logical disk using the Array. It recognised the disks, no
problem. I didn't disable smart boot.
Will it work work after I disable smart boot and use a normal
UEFI bootable USB ?

I'm trying to install Windows Server 2016 on a new HP Proliant DL20 Gen 9
server using a USB drive.
I cannot install even though I tried using UEFI created USB drive. Please
assist.
Thanks.
