Its definitely a good feature. Glad the OT post was actually helpful! Personally, I use AdBlock Plus with the Element Hiding Helper' installed. With the EHH, you can selectively get rid of ads anywhere. Its especially great for those sites that like to use that curtain page blocking technique.
