I found that on my previously flawless, meticulously clean running home
PC:
1. There are now about 5 UAC confirmations that pop up for AutoRun apps
that I have (Weird, since I have UAC disabled)
2. When the PC comes out of sleep, it takes about a minute for the
keyboard and mouse to 'wake up'.
I've installed it on a few servers herea DC and two Hyper-V hosts. None
of them are being used very much though. So far nothing negative to
report.

We have a need for a semi-mobile satellite setup at a remote construction site.
Basically because of theft, we need to lock up the equipment at night (even
then it might get stolen). So we hope we can find some equipment we can setup
each day for internet access, mainly to access our terminal
Anyone got a dead DL380 they wanna sell?
I have almost all the insides of one that had the physical chassis ruined.
I need to locate a server offsite for some backup purposes so it's not mission
critical.
Thanks!

You could use a portable sat like truckers have for internet access,
BUT ...
You're NOT gonna like RDP over VSAT. VSAT is high latency, minimum 600ms or
more as you have to roundtrip 100,000 miles to see the result of a keypress
( sync satellites are 23,000 to 26,000 miles up in orbit )

Does any know what features are available with the trial version of Acronis
Disk Director? I believe we plan on purchasing the product but we have an
immediate need to resize the system partition on 7 newly built servers.
There's too much red tape to go through to get the full product purchased
So ATT just rolled out their 3G network up here in Anchorage, AK last
Tuesday. I definitely see a noticeable difference in battery life. However,
I'm still able to get a full day's use out of my iphone before needing to
charge.

I haven't used Acronis but I've used GParted
(http://gparted.sourceforge.net/) on several Windows system partitions
with no problems.

No highspeed mobile internet access, there might dial-up speeds for mobile
internet, we will be testing ATT and Verizon next week (2 laptops, 1st and 2nd
gen iphones). Tempted to try out peersync, or similar solution, across
satellite, for this situation.
