Enterprise edition is less than 1/2 the cost of Acrobat Standard.
It does a reasonably good job on simple PDFs but large documents - like
a 400-page laser printer service manual - are hit-and-miss.

The free version is fine if all you need to do is create PDFs, which is
what 99% of those who need Adobe Acrobat use it for.
It's worth what you paid for it if you need to go beyond that - touch up
text, append one PDF to another, etc.
We are that last 1% that find the free stuff unsuitable.
I think the origional question was convert a PDF to DOCX. In that respect I
have no idea. I do know that many PDFs are just pictures and that OCR text
cant be pulled from them. (eaisily)
If the question is save a Word doc as a PDF, then use the free MS plugin, Save
as PDF
