Yes, I know this is flame bait.
Assuming adequate CPU power, is there any known reason why I couldn't
installed Outlook 2007 on a server? It would either be a W2k3 Server
domain controller, or a W2k Server box (non-dc) running Exchange 2003
Enterprise. I'm leaning toward putting

Really, you don't need to have a dedicated Outlook client setup to run rules
on a resource mailbox. Connect to the resource mailbox with a separate

I would highly recomend against either. You should not be checking mail on a
DC. and outlook should not be installed on an exchange server becuase of the
mapi.dll. If I were you and needed outlook to be running all the time I
would create a VM or get a old workstation.

If there are Kernel Level drivers they aren't going to work. Only 64bit
Kernel Based drivers can be used on a 64bit server. And we have known
from the past, some of the printer drivers was kernel mode, not user

store/rdm/etc then restarted the vm which gave me infinite time to backup the

I think it's ESX 3.5 update 2 where there is a VSS service embedded in
the VMware tools. If you enable that feature in the tools you can
'disable' VSS in vRanger and have the one from the tools do the VSS work
for you. Assuming of course you haven't enabled the disable guest
quiescing option.
Looks like another handy application to monitor server drive space.
