We find that the default permissions created by Windows when you populate the Profile Tab to be... less than optimal in our case. We have students who get Full Control of their folders. Thus, they will grant permissions to other students read and/or write access, so they can copy their work.

Our lease cycle was 3 years. With the slowing down of hardware requirements, etc, we are moving to a 4 year cycle for both servers and desktops. Laptops are still 3 year because they suffer a bit more travel abuse but we are also reducing the amount of laptops through using Citrix, etc. On Fri,
