I just sold a lot of my old lab equipment on eBay. Other than UPS destroying
one piece, everything went fine. I took the money and bought some new lab
stuff that ASB and MBS have been helping me learn.

It's a long shot
The slipstream method works fine and as I recall is supported by MS.
I would suggest though checking your build number on the SQL server to see if
there is a cumulative update or the like that you'll need to add to your
slipstream.
