had a couple different vendors cold-call me about that. Call me
old-fashioned, but I'd still want something on the local PC to help
catch/prevent something from spreading through the PCs, wouldn't I??? I mean

Double-check which archive folder Outlook is using. My *guess* is that it's
using a different archive folder than the user is expecting (i.e. user has
an archive folder showing in Outlook, but Outlook is probably archiving to
a different folder than the one showing.)

I have *little* experience with Lenovo/IBM machines. We have a couple older
machines, and I have to say, I have no problems with the hardware, other
than it is a few generations out of date (i.e. P3/P4 instead of the latest
multi-core CPU, etc.)
Lenovo/IBM have a reputation for being rock-solid
, rather than pay us to keep an older
machine productive.

Most everyone who works from home connects via Cisco VPN and then accesses
our AS/400. When Windows 7 came out, we started having problems with VPN and
the AS/400 client not working. At that point, we just told our users if you
have Windows 7, you can't VPN. Eventually the problem was resolved by

I had a similar problem a couple weeks ago... ended up calling in a specialist.
He said he opened a case with Microsoft and they told him how to fix it. If
you'd like I can ask him to send me the details on how he fixed it (since we're
paying for it! *grin*) and forward those on.

No bet! That being said, I think that unless Microsoft really works hard to
keep Linux clients from connecting, there will be a Linux client for Skype,
even if it's not an authorized client. The community will probably write
one and put it out there.

Yep. Look at Apple and ATT. I might be mis-remembering, but wasn't the big
controversy over VOIP on the iPHone because ATT didn't want to lose the
revenue from voice calls?

I see the point you're making, Andrew, and it makes a lot of sense to me,
especially in the area of WP7. From what I've been able to read (note, I
have not experienced it myself... I don't have *any* SmartPhone) a lot of
the complaints are that WP7 is not as polished as Apple's iPhone or the
Ahh... makes even more sense now why ATT, Verizon, etc would push back
against Skype...
