One share for all home drives. Use ABE so not all folder are visible and use
NTFS perms to secure. To much management overhead for a separate share for each
user folder.

What is the best method to move the home
permissions to the
folder. Answer no and the permissions will remain as you left them. Our
users have Modify permissions on their specific home directories, nothing more.

One share. you can designate subfolders under that share as the homefolder.

Definitely one share, and multiple folders owned by each user below
that. The ACLs pretty much follow along this guide for roaming
profiles: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc757013(v=ws.10).aspx

One share, folder per user.

One share with secured nested folder structures. This is less resource
intensive on the server.

Pick your poison...individual shares or folders under a single share. Depends
entirely on the enterprise, admin considerations, security considerations, etc.

We have \\fileserver\home share, with share permissions of
Everyone:Full Control, and NTFS permissions of Read/Execute For this
Folder Only for Domain Users.
These permissions allow people to traverse the share to their home directories.
We then specify \\fileserver\home\%username% for home
For us it's USERNAME$ on the server.
