Our CFO bought a Playbook and wanted to use the VPN. I couldn't get it to work
with PPTP. Supposedly, RIM will come out with a fix to allow that.

Didn't someone on here say BB doesn't understand that an email address needs
to be accessible on multiple devices?

From what I've been reading, you activate the bridge between the two devices
(bluetooth connection) and it becomes a virtual extension of your BBand
all the data is actually still held on the phone and not the playbook.

We have one device that we are using to evaluate for those exact reasons.
I've only had it a couple of days.
I originally liked the marketing blurb about how the bridging protects
documents. When the bridge is broken, nothing remains on the Playbook
(think if someone walked away from the PB at
Sounds kludgy!

Now may not be the time to invest in RIM technology. Just sayin'

I've got a Playbook. The bridge works great. Haven't tried a VPN or
anything yet... not many apps though, waiting for Android market to be
ported over, then it'll be my go to tablet.

Access to internal sitesPardon my ignorance/innocenceyou can hit
internal sites with your BB? What did you have to configure for that? I
always thought that option should be there since we have an internal
BES...but didn't look into it.
Cheers!
You have to have it bridged and use the bridge browser. And of course your
BES has to have that configured as well. Can you hit internal sites from
the BB?

Yes, I can hit internal sites from the BES...No, I can't hit internal sites
from my BB (Torch...not a PB).

Unfortunately I'm not a BES admin, but I do know there is something you have
to do on the BES to enable it. Until you can browse from the BB, you won't
be able to browse from the PB.

It can do both. The bridge browser only works thru the BES like a proxy.
