Throw in a curve... I've been issued a BlackBury. The Playbook looks to
be extremely tempting! Technology parallel to Apple but with a better
assortment of I/O ports.

computer per say I was looking more for an appliance type of device. The
Kindle etc. are appliances and software packages you can put on a computer.

I seem to remember that was along the line of the Nook family or some of the
smaller vendor appliances.
I would be reading technical books of some length and some novels. For the
technical books I was hoping to add my own notes to the books.
