Just a brief addendum to the multiple reports from Central Park today with
two species that I didn't see reported:
A Black-billed Cuckoo was working through the canopy on the east side of the
meadow in Strawberry Fields at about 10AM this morning.

Even with a late start there was a good deal of evidence of migration
in the park, scattered in multiple areas and perhaps more than the
"usual" in the southern third of the park, which i also visited later
in the day. The
This is a belated post from yesterday. I observed the following notable
species at Jamaica Bay Wildlife Refuge:
- American Avocets (2)
- American Golden-Plovers (2) - one adult; one juvenile
- Pectoral Sandpipers (2)
- Stilt Sandpipers (10)
- White-rumped Sandpipers (6)
All were observed from

A Northern Wheatear is again being seen in Dekorte Park, Lyndhurst
New Jersey & the following give some info (including possible parking
issues Wed. due to a conference). This is within a relatively short
drive of the greater NYC metro area.
