Despite the wind and low temperature, Central Park, though not blazing with
activity was quite active today. Birds were not particularly vocal as far as
full-out song, but chipping was abundant at times. The list of birds posted on

I spent the majority of my morning birding in Sunken Meadow State Park. 5
Least terns and 21 Laughing Gulls were out fishing on the LI Sound viewed from
the boardwalk near Field One. I spent most of my time walking the Inner Marsh
trail, just past the entrance to Field 2 on the left hand side
The SNOWY EGRET was rediscovered Saturday by Gerry Teal and it continues in
the vicinity of the NY Rt 18 bridge over Twelve Mile Creek. Today it was
seen by many observers south of the bridge, often close to the bridge and
occasionally roosting on a nearby dock. It was also found a few hundred
