Bobby Rosetti and I birded the flats north of Cupsogue this afternoon from
about 5 to 7 PM.
No rarities, but birds of interest included one breeding Royal Tern with just a
few white spots on its forehead, one breeding Long-billed Dowitcher, and 1 or 2
Hendersoni Short-billed, 3 or 4 Red Knots,

We arrived at the intersection of Maplewood and Donato, where we met Joan
Quinlan and Andrew Baksh. After an extended wait, with the six of us scattered
over the area, we

Taking my pizza lunch break in the park I heard the singing BLACKPOLL
WARBLER again on the north walk near the 42nd St. side of the park nearer
the west end of this east/west footpath.
