[BOS Shorebird Trip to the Lake Erie shore
in Ontario, Sunday, July 25. Meet
The white pelican was still present at Jamaica Bay this afternoon from
around 12:30 - 1pm. It was staying, primarily, in the south end of
Grassy Bay, not far from the East Pond spillway. I was not able to
locate the HUGO.

Gochfeld, I made a brief stop at WE2 on the way home to scan the sandbar in the
marina. Present was a single Gull-billed Tern and eighteen Piping Plovers.

GREAT EGRET: Cohoes Flats 7/19 (5); Niskayuna RR Station 7/21
I birded up the East Pond at Jamaica Bay Wildlife Refuge starting at the south
end a bit before 6 AM and exiting out the NE corner. The most notable thing was
the dramatic increase in shorebirds on the pond. While there were only maybe
700 or so shorebirds on the East Pond on Tuesday, there
Wilson's Phalarope right at the North West entrance to the East Pond at Jamaica
Bay Wildlife Refuge.
