Well, I don't where I'm birding next, but I know where I birded last - and I crossed paths with another pelican. Since I got home very late yesterday and no one else posted Cupsogue results for 9/4, I'll put it on the record that an immature BROWN PELICAN flew over the flats. 3 CASPIAN TERNS

Anya Auerbach and I birded at Mecox Bay this morning. Highlights were 1 BAIRD'S SANDPIPER and 1 SANDWICH TERN. In addition we saw, 3 Western Sandpipers, 1 Stilt Sandpiper, 5 White-rumped Sandpipers and 7 Black Terns. Earlier Richard Kaskan had seen 3 BROWN PELICANS flying east along the ocean

On Saturday, September 3, I accompanied a friend on his small boat on the east end of Shinecock Bay to do a bit of exploring. It was a breezy day and the water was quite choppy. This made it difficult to bird while the boat was in motion. We were able to land on Warner Island which is a
