Well, I don't where I'm birding next, but I know where I birded last - and I
crossed paths with another pelican. Since I got home very late yesterday and
no one else posted Cupsogue results for 9/4, I'll put it on the record that
an immature BROWN PELICAN flew over the flats. 3 CASPIAN TERNS
Both *American White Pelicans *seen today with Tom Burke, Gail Benson, Don
Riepe and Cindy Goulder from a boat on the bay. They were located around the
same area where they were reported yesterday, on the beach side overlooking
the bay towards JKF Airport. Approximately, half way between Broad

Sorry for the late post, but last evening, about 5PM, I had some very good
looks at two Whimbrels at the sod farm East of Rte 105 (4), and north of
Northville Turnpike in Riverhead, LI, NY, in back of the Fire Training
Building on Northville Tpk.
If anyone would like to see pictures of
Anya Auerbach and I birded at Mecox Bay this morning. Highlights were 1
BAIRD'S SANDPIPER and 1 SANDWICH TERN. In addition we saw, 3 Western
Sandpipers, 1 Stilt Sandpiper, 5 White-rumped Sandpipers and 7 Black Terns.
Earlier Richard Kaskan had seen 3 BROWN PELICANS flying east along the ocean
On Saturday, September 3, I accompanied a friend on his small boat on
the east end of Shinecock Bay to do a bit of exploring. It was a
breezy day and the water was quite choppy. This made it difficult to
bird while the boat was in motion. We were able to land on Warner
Island which is a

Turtle Cove Rd we found an American Golden Plover and 6 Sanderlings.
